Challenge 2000 has long standing relationships with a number of primary and secondary schools in the Wellington region. We provide a wide range of programmes to schools to including leadership days and kapa haka.
We also run school holiday programmes around the Wellington region for various age groups. If you are interested in registering for a school holiday programme, please email us to find out what is coming up.
Holiday Programmes and Camps
These first two weeks of October are an exciting time for Challenge 2000 staff and volunteers, as we run a number of programmes.
Students from colleges in Porirua and the Hutt Valley are involved in holiday programmes in both of these locations.
Activities have been devised to help these young people grow in confidence, self-awareness and the ability to collaborate with others.
Other young people from around the Wellington region head away to various parts of the country with Challenge 2000. We have had a Wāhine Toa camp in Rotorua and a Hero’s Journey retreat in Dunedin. We’ve also had a group of young men reconnect with their ancestral roots in Tūhoe country. Another group has canoed down the Whanganui River.
As you can imagine, providing these transformative, resilience-building opportunities involves a lot of work. We are extremely grateful to those who support our engagement with young people.
