Volunteers for Outreach
Challenge 2000 is a community based agency. We believe that as members of a community we have some responsibility for the well being and development of other community members. We are incredibly lucky to have a large number of volunteers who support the work of our staff.
It is because of these supporters that we are able to be involved in so many areas and run such a variety of programmes! You could be a part of the dream, and help Challenge 2000 help your community!
If you would like to share your gifts, talent and passion by:
- Tutoring children or young adults (anything from maths to music!)
- Being a mentor for young people
- Providing transport for families to go to specialist centres
- Taking young people for work experience
- Delivering bread and food to struggling families
- Going shopping, providing companionship
- Donating goods
- Assisting us with fundraising,
- Collecting on our Street day Appeal!
- Writing newsletters
- Working as a part/full time volunteer (see if social work is for you!)

Volunteers 2007
2007 saw an even greater increase in the number of volunteers:
So many of our "old" youth who have been in our Youth Development Programmes are now volunteering to support other young people. It is absolutely awesome!
So, what have our volunteers been doing:
Zeb volunteered on the Compass Programme
Makalio Neemia was a dedicated leader on the Odyssey Programme.
Sheena McIntyre volunteered with World Youth Day and the Odyssey Programme

Please Note:
Our young people and children are important and as we respect their
right to a quality service. All volunteers are required to undertake
a police check and receive training and supervision.
