What is the Gap Year?
Challenge 2000 and the Society of Mary wish to see young people grow, learn and make a difference. The Gap Year does just this. It is a full-time project involving NZQA training, group work and pastoral placements. And it is so much more than that! The Gap Year offers the chance to develop all elements required for a balanced life; work, social, spiritual, intellectual and physical dimensions.
A lot goes on in the Gap Year! You will gain experience and a qualification in youth work which is great if you want to work with people in the future. Gap Year helps you to get the extras under your belt; your driver’s licence, first aid certificate and you receive a weekly allowance, too! Most importantly you get the chance to grow and learn with an awesome group of young people who want to serve others, just like you do.
Gap Year never ceases to surprise and offers so much that other young Kiwis won’t get the chance to do. So, if experience, service and community sound good to you, contact us! Opportunities like this are few and far between!
